Jesus was polarizing. There was no man or woman that could encounter Him and ignore the weight of His presence. There was something that separated His person from the periphery, something that raised the volume of His message above the minutiae. Whether they praised Him as Lord or punished Him as a blasphemous heretic, the one thing they could not do was ignore Him. So in the words of the great theologian, Bonnie Raitt (she was a theologian, right?)- “Let's give them something to talk about A little mystery to figure out
Let's give them something to talk about How about love,” The Movement will give a lost, dying, and confused world something to talk about. They will talk about the unfathomable love of the Savior. They will talk about the passionate kindness of a local church resting in the northeast corner of Dallas, yet reaching the rest of the world. They will talk about a ministry of young people with an unrelenting honesty about their successes and setbacks encountered while chasing the Almighty God. They will talk about the movement that stood unhindered by tradition and apathy and advanced the cause of Christ forward into Starbucks, Facebook, and the expanding frontiers of our world as we find them. We will challenge our peers with the question- “What will you do with this Jesus?” Some will applaud us. Others will criticize us. But my prayer is that this generation will no longer be able to ignore us. |
